Translating is not just a matter of replacing words but more of understanding the context and content of the subject!

There are those who think it is okay to use the free online translating services or to use an application that they think will give them accurate translations of whatever it is that they wish to translate?

Chances are that they might just end up getting the wrong message across as what they intended to share might just be lost in translation and they end up causing much more harm to their work or trade what more if it involves something much more personal or intimate with their intended partner or partners.

Getting to send across what one really means needs to take into consideration the true meanings of one's exchanges, correspondence or delivery of one's intention.

A translating application would only be able to give you the nearest equivalent to a word or phrase but a well versed knowledgeable human translator who understands the context and content of what it is that you really wish to convey will be able to deliver exactly that!

The human translator will be able to immediately identify your intention in the needed language that you wish to have it delivered.

Machine translators on the other hand depend on the type of data and input entered into it's system and the process of coming to whatever closest results that has been entered into it's program? The output may be close to or totally in contrast to what you intended to say or share?

Waltration!!! Engrish as it is broken Malaysian Indian Style!

I was doing some shopping at Taman Tenaga, Cheras, Kuala Lumpur when I saw this Indian Tailor's signboard with a gross spelling error!

Instead of 'Alteration' the sign maker had printed 'Waltration'!

I know that the way some Indians speak English with their rolling of the tongue Indian accent is quite atrocious over there in India but didn't expect our Malaysian Indians to have the same problem here! :P

Lesson # 1 > Please do a spell check before you pay the signboard maker!

You do not want to be a laughing stock later!

News Editing Blooper ~ How Proof Reading is so important?

You may click on to the image of the news report here and read it clearer in either a new tab or window.

A simple oversight on the part of the News Editor of the Malay Mail reporting about this business news.

What does the headline state?

'Bina Puri to land RM300b job in Brunei'.

Now, when we read further we discover that the deal was only RM300 million!

There's a whole lot of difference between RM300 billion and RM300 million!

All because the News Editor overlooked that 'b' and gave the go ahead for the printing department to run the machines.

The need for proofreaders such as myself is being overlooked by the mainstream media.

People do not realize the disastrous impact of such oversights in their documentations.

Do not fear READ N WRITE.NET services.

I charge very, very reasonably. Hehehehe.

Do not fear. Haji Zainol is here.
